Karen Belfer admires our sweet marzipan logo designed by a VCC Digital Graphic Design student
The Centre for Instructional Development (CID) had a wonderful opening of its new Downtown offices in room 728 on Feb 4th 2009. Sara Ahadi our Dean’s Assistant made sure all the artistic and practical details of the event were organized perfectly.
Over 70 employees and students attended and enjoyed delicious VCC carrot cake, sliced oranges, coffee and tea as they experienced many interesting educational displays. Feedback was very positive that faculties now know what we do and how to access us. There will be a similar event at our Broadway office soon so keep in touch with our website.

Dental Hygiene’s Lisa MacNeill, Trudy Holmes, Lisa Marie Supeene & Patti Rickets meet with Lyn Lennig
What a buzz there was all day as people dropped by to see what we do. Door prizes were announced the next day and delighted winners ran away with Music department CDs from the 1980s among others. Hey who doesn’t want to hear Donna Summer and Guy Ritchie music again…just kidding of course we all know our music department has fabulous, world class, award winning, unique music to enjoy.
- Shona Moody adds “A Touch of Class” to Clicker Training
We’ll teach you about “Clickers” in 30 minutes or less so plan to attend one of our “Lunch and Learn” sessions or wait for the Podcast on our website. David Tickner http://www.iswnetwork.ca/tickner.php from the School of Instructor Education liked them so much we’re calling them “Clickners” now! Lyn Lennig, Robin Popow and Ginny Cathcart, Instructional Associates (IAs), presented several small group sessions on topics like Universal Design, Distributed Learning, and Curriculum Development. If you are getting those course revisions and new curricula “EDCO ready” it is much easier if you work with an IA and see what is available from the CID.
Other topics that our VCC instructional Associates can help with include Program Renewal, Instructor Development, E-portfolios, Research Process, Mentorship of new Department heads and many others. Check out our website to learn more about various Distributed Learning and Instructional Development topics through our Development Guides, also make sure you visit the event’s page to see the upcoming lunch and learns.
